Quick answer

Surfers Paradise suits a working or solo stay when the apartment has reliable Wi-Fi, a kitchen and laundry, easy access to the light rail and a sensible place to work. Our apartments include complimentary Wi-Fi, and a stay of seven nights or more has a long stay discount. Below is what to check, how to get around and how to choose a quiet or central position.

Most Gold Coast guides are written for holidaymakers. If you are travelling for work, or on your own, the questions are different: can I work from the apartment, how do I get to a meeting, what happens in the evening, and what does a longer stay look like? This guide answers those for Surfers Paradise.

Working from your apartment

Complimentary Wi-Fi is included. Your secure login details are sent the day before you arrive with your check in guide. The Wi-Fi is a complimentary amenity and occasional network disruptions are out of our hands, so if you have an important call, keep a phone hotspot as a backup.

There is no daily housekeeping, which suits people who prefer not to be interrupted during the day. Your booking includes a clean before you arrive and again when you leave. For a longer stay, mid-stay cleaning and a linen change can be arranged for an additional charge. Please contact us in advance for a quote.

Getting to meetings and the airport

The G:link light rail runs from Helensvale to Burleigh Heads and stops at Surfers Paradise, Cavill Avenue and Surfers Paradise North. It connects you to Broadbeach, where the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is, and to Southport. If you are flying into Brisbane, the Airtrain to Helensvale connects with the light rail. From Gold Coast Airport it is about 30 to 35 minutes to Surfers Paradise by car. Our guide to getting around goes through every option.

Quiet or central?

The position of the building and the floor can matter as much as the suburb. Surfers Paradise has a busy evening centre around Cavill Avenue, so how close a building is to it is worth asking about. Broadbeach is calmer in the evening than Surfers Paradise, and many business visitors prefer to stay near the convention centre. Our Southport villas are on a peaceful street, a few minutes from the beach and the city. If a quiet night matters to you, ask us about the building and the floor before you book.

Staying a week or longer

A stay of seven nights or more has a long stay discount applied automatically at checkout, with no code needed. An apartment with a kitchen and laundry makes a longer stay practical, and you can arrange mid-stay cleaning and a linen change on request. Check in is from 3pm and check out is by 10am. If you need an earlier check in or later check out, the only way to guarantee it is to book the night before or the night after.

Evenings and getting about at night

Surfers Paradise is a busy tourist area with a lively evening scene. It is one of Queensland’s safe night precincts, which means eligible licensed venues can trade until 3am and some venues use ID scanners. That is useful to know if you are walking home late.

Sensible habits apply anywhere. Stay in busy, well lit areas, keep your belongings and your drink with you, and use a licensed taxi or a rideshare for longer trips late at night. If you are unsure about a route home, ask the venue. We do not make claims about safety beyond the official information.
